The Story Behind Five Fat Friars

Five Fat Friars continues my exploration of mirrored landscapes, where reality folds into the surreal. In this scene, vinyl records rise as hills, maps form a distant moon, and smoke drifts upward from a forest of chimneys. Fish swim through the sky while iconic buildings are reassembled into unexpected roles. A checkerboard stage draws the eye, suggesting that the world extends far beyond the frame. Delicate drawn details and a playful tongue twister deepen the layers of meaning. At the heart of it all, a man stands proudly, inviting the viewer to linger in curiosity and wonder.
